Media/Communication for Change & Development… is FRD’s top priority working area with extensive experience. At FRD we use Media/Communication for change and development with the least amount of time, resources and budget. Media/Communication can be a powerful force for positive social change.
Mass media can travel huge distances, bypassing physical barriers and reaching across political, economic, ethnic and religious divides. It can enable dialogue between leaders, civil society and hard-to-reach populations, providing a platform for public debate, awareness and education. FRD uses various forms of media and communication, to tackle poverty and contribute to long-term change in Afghanistan. As well as more traditional mass media and interpersonal communication, we are increasingly using online and social media to help promote conversations, learning, public awareness and debate. Our aim is to inform, connect and empower people across the country. We work in partnership to provide access to useful, timely, reliable information. We help people make sense of events, engage in dialogue, and take action to improve their lives. FRD harnesses the power of media and communication to help reduce poverty and assist women, children and men to understand their rights.
